Asheville. NC

Sorry that I was unable to write my blog sooner. My husband and I went to North Carolina this weekend to relax and get away. Our daughter was born nearly a year ago and we have not been able to have any alone time. We arrived in Marshall, NC where our cabin was located, we felt like we were stepping back in time to the 1930's. The town was very small, the buildings were very old and the was surround by a river.
Our day got off to a very rocky start, once we checked into the cabin we decided to go up to the hot tub. After about 30 minutes I dropped the lighter into the hot tub so Kevin (my husband) went down to the cabin to get another lighter. A few minutes later he returned with a puzzled look on his face and no lighter. We were locked out. At first I thought it was joke until I went to check for myself. I was so scared because we were in the middle of nowhere, keys, cellphones and clothes were in the cabin. I put what little clothes I were over my bathing suit back on and walked to the neighbors and asked for a cell phone. I quickly called my sister-in-law and begged for to call the owners so that they can unlock the door. 3 hours past, and still nobody had come to unlock the door. I was shivering for hours to the point of crying because it was 23 degrees I was wearing a wet clothes and a bathing suit. I finally walked to another neighbors house and asked if I could use his phone. The man was very nice, he invited me into his and I explained what happened. I called my sister-in-law again, by this point I was crying and shaking, she told me that there was a hide-a-key below the cabin. I ran to the cabin and quickly unlocked the door.
Saturday, we got up very early and left the cabin at around 10:00 am. We headed to Asheville which was 20 miles from where we were staying. The Biltmore Estate is located 6 miles from downtown Asheville and is called by some "the Castle of America". Once we arrived, I was speechless and I could hardly wait to walkin. Touring the house was breathtaking, there was so much Art and history behind every room and every floor in that house. Biltmore is all I think about now, while we were there I bought a book named "Lady on the Hill". So far I read 2 chapters and I can't wait to finish it.
If anyone has ever been to the Biltmore Estate you can understand my obsession with the history of the house and the Vanderbilt's.

Plagiarism

Plagiarism is a considered academic dishonesty and can result in 3 different disciplinary actions. According to the KU handbook for writing, the disciplinary actions are 1. automatic failure of the paper 2. Automatic failure of the class and 3. Expelled for Kaplan University. It is very important that you cite everything that you write and give credit to the author who wrote it. A good way to help you cite paper the correct way is to start researching your paper early. Long papers that are said to be 7-10 pages are very easy to get lost in and not properly cite. I hope that this blog was helpful!!

I really love online classes

I really want to know what everyone thinks about having online classes and they manage their time between everyday responsibilities. How do you make it work???Having online classes has made college very easy. But, it's hard sometimes because I would like to have one on one contact with my teacher. Although, the flexibility is great and works well with my life style which stays busy. Picking and choosing my the times that I go to class is good because my daughter is in bed in later than 8:00 p.m. every night. I'm new to blogging and I have to say, it's very fun!!! I think that the class can become closer and know each other through blogging. Writing is fun for me because I can talk about a lot of things. Everyone has a voice, blogging is an interesting way to be heard. You may find life long friendships or a way to relieve stress. I love free writing and I'm really going to enjoy writing in my blog. Who knows, I may keep my blog account forever!

Life is getting so busy; Friends, family, work, and SCHOOL

On Wednesday, my husband, Ashley (Best friend), her husband I went shopping. Our main goal was to get our daughter some clothes and other things for birthday. Well, I love Ashley to death but she shops slower than she eats. I was able to be home in plenty of time for class, but my acid reflux was acting up; I really hate missing class. Managing my time this term as been a challenge because I have so much going on with work, school and family that my friends are complaining that we never get to have a girls day.

As far as my project, I am writing about drug addiction and how it affects the person and the people around them; This took a lot of thought. I will say that this isn't about me but my sister-in-law instead. I love her so much and addiction is a battle that isn't always won. Her parents like to say to that she was "sick" but really addiction in this case is more than a sickness, it's a disease. When she was going through my husband and I were not dating at the time. Well, I guess I better get off here and eat some dinner!!!

It is getting difficult to remember to check my blog and even post something. I have been very busy this week and I hope to become better at blogging. Tomorrow my husband and I are going shopping for our daughter. It's very hard to believe that she is going to be a year old very very soon.
