YAY it's finally Summer
It's finally summer which means my hours have been cut to 10 hrs and Ashlyn is out of school. This summer I decided not to send her to school over the summer to save money and to spend more one on one time with her. Money is tight with everyone, so I've decided to save save save!!!! Also I have been on a pinterest and craft kick lately. Ashlyn and I love making things together. I figured with all the fun we are having, I should blog about the things we are making!! I hope y'all enjoy!!
My husband and I made this night table out of an old work shop table. We took the wheels off, spray painted it black and thanks to my awesome hubby, put granite on top and a small on the bottle to hold the table in place
Ashlyn and I made this for my mom for her birthday. its amazing what you can do with scrapbook paper, a clay pot and mod podge.
I made this for my husband for our 5 yr anniversary. I took and old mirror frame painted and put pictures on it from over the past 5 yrs. pretty cool huh?
Now, I haven't blogged in over 2 years, one day I just decided to blog for fun.

My final Project
Well, it has been very interesting to write my paper but I am not finish yet. The stress is building up as I am nearing the end of yet another term at KU. I really like my topic because it has a lot of meaning behind it and I want to use my current knowledge on the topic and put the word out there. I am very tired of writing at this point because I have so much going on at the moment. I have another paper that is due in another class that is the same length as the one for this class. This course has taught me a lot about writing a good paper and really good techniques on revising.

Planning to blog after this term
I have been thinking a lot lately whether to keep blogging or not. Even this was a requirement for class, I have enjoyed writing my thoughts. After this term over, I will keep blogging on daily things that are happening or how next term is going. It doesn't bother me that many people don't comment on my blog posts. Writing is a good way to relieve stress for me while others love to write.

Peer Reviews
I like peer reviews because it is a good way to get feedback from our classmates. During this process, it is good to accept the good with the bad. I am a little nervous about everyone reading my paper because I do believe it's a little harsh. I don't want people thinking that all persons that have or had an addiction problem is a bad person. I can't really remember when I did a peer review but I do know that it was a good learning experience. Also its fun to see what everyone's opinion is on different types of topics; some can relate others don't.
On another note, it's storming here right now and I am trying to stay awake. I feel like I have not sat down in days and my back is killing me; doing a mans job isn't easy on your body. ** :) ** But atleast I get to go to Florence, SC this weekend to visit my grandparents.

The Past 6 weeks
The past 6 weeks have been a challenge for me. For some reason work has been keeping away from home and very busy. My husband has been getting on to me for not being at home much. Right now, I am trying to figure out a way to be home with my family more, work and still make money, and have time for school. This coming week should be better because I am not working so many hours in a day and I will have time for everything. Taking a break from school has been a thought in my mind for some time but I am so close to finishing. Does anyone have any advice???

Ashlyn's first Birthday
This past week I have been doing everything in my power to give my daughter the best birthday. On top of her Birthday, work has been keeping unusually busy which isn't normal. The party went great until a friend/landlord told me that during the party my sister-in-law went up stairs and came back down 10 minutes later acting very strange. I have had thoughts that she was back on drugs for example Xanax and Cocaine. Because over the last 6 months she has lost about 40 lbs and is scary skinny. The funny thing about her going up stairs is the fact that nobody was up there. Sadly my husband and I know that she was doing cocaine in our bathroom, but we can't prove it nor can I call her out on it. I'm hurt that she would do that at our house during our daughters birthday party. Many of you may know that the paper that I am writing is about addiction sort of based on her past experience with prescription drugs and recreational drugs. Well that is enough for now, I hope that everyone had a great weekend.

Asheville. NC
Sorry that I was unable to write my blog sooner. My husband and I went to North Carolina this weekend to relax and get away. Our daughter was born nearly a year ago and we have not been able to have any alone time. We arrived in Marshall, NC where our cabin was located, we felt like we were stepping back in time to the 1930's. The town was very small, the buildings were very old and the was surround by a river.
Our day got off to a very rocky start, once we checked into the cabin we decided to go up to the hot tub. After about 30 minutes I dropped the lighter into the hot tub so Kevin (my husband) went down to the cabin to get another lighter. A few minutes later he returned with a puzzled look on his face and no lighter. We were locked out. At first I thought it was joke until I went to check for myself. I was so scared because we were in the middle of nowhere, keys, cellphones and clothes were in the cabin. I put what little clothes I were over my bathing suit back on and walked to the neighbors and asked for a cell phone. I quickly called my sister-in-law and begged for to call the owners so that they can unlock the door. 3 hours past, and still nobody had come to unlock the door. I was shivering for hours to the point of crying because it was 23 degrees I was wearing a wet clothes and a bathing suit. I finally walked to another neighbors house and asked if I could use his phone. The man was very nice, he invited me into his and I explained what happened. I called my sister-in-law again, by this point I was crying and shaking, she told me that there was a hide-a-key below the cabin. I ran to the cabin and quickly unlocked the door.
Saturday, we got up very early and left the cabin at around 10:00 am. We headed to Asheville which was 20 miles from where we were staying. The Biltmore Estate is located 6 miles from downtown Asheville and is called by some "the Castle of America". Once we arrived, I was speechless and I could hardly wait to walkin. Touring the house was breathtaking, there was so much Art and history behind every room and every floor in that house. Biltmore is all I think about now, while we were there I bought a book named "Lady on the Hill". So far I read 2 chapters and I can't wait to finish it.
If anyone has ever been to the Biltmore Estate you can understand my obsession with the history of the house and the Vanderbilt's.
